Future. Growth. Development was established in October of 2017. The organization was founded by Khadijah Laidford an New York City native that migrated down to Charlotte, NC in 2015. She completed Central Piedmont Community College in 2018 with an Associates in Arts and is continuing her education for a degree in Criminal Justice. Khadijah started an early career in law enforcement in 2017 as a Detention Officer at the Rowan County Sheriff Department where she noticed a countless number of juvenile teens come into the jail to serve time on crimes they may or may not have committed in the community. Khadijah’s involvement and deep dedication to help the juvenile teens in the jail lead her to create a non-profit organization such as Future. Growth. Development to help children just like the ones she seen come into the jail.

Fast forward to now, Khadijah no longer works with the Sheriff Department, but she is now employed with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools as an EC Job Coach. Khadijah’s continuous drive to help the youth in our communities shows through the careers that she has chosen. Khadijah’s dedication and passion to ensure that the youth are supplied with the essential tools needed to be successful is phenomenal. Khadijah has shown over time that she is willing to go to any extent to see forth that Future. Growth. Development’s mission is completed in truth.
